ATCH. Newtopaz Target for Tollegend, AGMX, MAD, Bronze Award of Merit, Silver Award of Merit, GOLD Award of Merit, FbdCH, ShdCH
Target is a once in a lifetime dog. He came to me from Susan Milton in Ontario when he was only 9 weeks old. He has accomplished more in his life so far than anything I would even have imagined! He started his agility career when he was 2 years old after he almost lost his life to a large dog when he was attacked in an agility tunnel. The dog grabbed and shook him like he was a rag doll, and after a few surgeries and lots of rehabilitation, I decided to put him back into agility training to rebuild his confidence.
In just 2 short years Target achieved his Agility Trial Championship in 2 different organizations, as well as winning his first Regional Championship he was entered in. The next year Target was chosen to represent Canada at the Agility World Championships in France, and he was to be part of history in the making since that was the first ever Agility World Championships that Canada participated in.
The following year, we represented our Country again, this time going to Italy to compete. Along with this incredible opportunity, he was eligible for the Cynosport World Games the same year with his accomplishments in USDAA Grand Prix of Dog Agility and Steeplechase wins in the USA.
For the past 6 years in a row, Target has won the Regional Championships and has placed a respective 4th, 2nd and 8th place overall at the Canadian National Championships, as well as the Steeplechase winner over all at the 2006 Nationals and 2nd place overall at the Steeplechase Nationals in 2007.
In 2006 Target made history in winning the Clean Run 60 weave pole Challenge, completing all 60 poles in 12.89 seconds!
Target is now a veteran in agility.
I could go on and on about Target’s accomplishments and his abilities, but most importantly, he is my buddy, my friend, and my companion. As he is getting older now, and his face gets whiter all the time, I look him and think about how much this little 6-pound dog has changed my life.
I count my blessings every day, and thank goodness I was lucky enough to have such a dog to share my life with.
